Frequently Asked Questions

What tablets are supported by Invoke?

Invoke has been tested on most modern tablets, including Wacom tablets and iPads. There are many tablet models and operating systems out there, and we can’t guarantee full compatibility with every device. If you’re using an older tablet, it may require driver updates or additional configuration. If you’re experiencing issues, ensure your drivers are up to date and check your settings. You can also join our Discord channel to see if others in the community have found solutions for your device.

My tablet isn’t working as expected. What should I do?

If your tablet isn’t responding or functioning correctly, follow these steps:

  1. Test Pressure Sensitivity: You can check if pressure sensitivity is functioning on your tablet in browser applications by using a browser-based online tool like this pressure sensitivity tester - Multi-Touch Browser Input Testing

This will help you determine if the issue is related to your local system or specific to your settings in Invoke. If pressure doesn’t work on the tester, the problem is likely related to your pen settings or configuration.

  2. Update Your Drivers: Ensure your tablet’s drivers are up to date.

  3. Check Tablet Settings: Review your tablet’s settings in both the application and the tablet software to ensure pressure sensitivity and pen functions are properly configured.

  4. Disable Windows Ink (for Windows users): Disabling Windows Ink can resolve drawing issues with certain tablets. You can disable it in your tablet software.

  5. Restart Your Machine: After installing or re-configuring updates, sometimes you’ll need to restart your machine for the changes to take effect. If your tablet worked previously but stopped after an update, restarting can often resolve the issue.

  6. Join Our Discord: If none of these steps solve your issue, you can join our Discord channel to get additional help from the community.

How do I enable pressure sensitivity on my tablet?

Pressure sensitivity should work by default with most supported tablets. If it’s not working, please see the steps above to troubleshoot. There have also been some solutions identified by the community with certain drivers that do not work effectively on Windows - You can read more about solutions for these tablets here: https://github.com/DustyShoe/Windows-Ink-Pressure-Fix/blob/main/README.md

Why does my tablet pen only move the cursor but doesn’t draw?

This issue is often caused by Windows Ink. Try disabling Windows Ink in your tablet’s software settings or in Windows settings. You may also want to review your pen and touch settings within Invoke.

Why don’t touch gestures work on iPad?

Currently, Invoke only supports pen input for drawing on iPads. Touch gestures like pinch-to-zoom or swiping are not yet implemented. We’re focused on delivering a smooth experience for pen-based drawing first, and touch gesture support may be added in future updates. Stay tuned for further developments, and let us know your feedback through contact with your account manager, our support team, or on Discord!
